AMP v1.2 Available! + Changelog +New Lights
Avatar Miner Paintball v1.2 has been approved, and you should update your game immediately! This is a maintenance update that focused on four issues:
- Match disconnections induced within AMP are now rare
- Code4 during gameplay fixed
- Gameplay quirks corrected (read below)
- Lost saves from v1.0 Recovered
Smaller, Frequent Updates
This is the second update since launch on the 21st of May, giving us an average of 12 days between updates. We’re working hard to make this pace even quicker, and get more updates out sooner, and make gameplay better with every revision. Looking back a few posts to our forecasts, we’re doing quite well.
Lost Saves are Back
The version v1.1 update corrected a typo in the save file system, that causes save files created in the initial release of AMP to become inaccessible. V1.1 recovers these save files, and puts them where they belong. When they are found, you are notified.
When playing against people online, especially in high latency games, each player’s health could become different on each person’s Xbox in rare situations. If you are curious about multiplayer networking, drop by our forums and I can fill you in. But suffice it to say that this issue was causing players to “Lie down” when walking or become invisible. I am pleased to say, this is now impossible, and thus fixed!
The game engine now builds 100% accurate physics based on blocks, instead of using simple versions. This means that stairs feel like stairs, and gaps in vertical slabs’ collision are removed. Overall, the world should feel more “Solid”. Shoot through the gap in a fence to see it for yourself. Highly accurate collision in games, even AAA titles is something very difficult to achieve, so we’re pretty proud of this feature.
AMP in v1.1 still had some odd quirks such as auto aim not locking onto people’s heads, team switching being hidden in team gametypes and the search results for Combat and Editor gametypes getting all mixed up. There is a full change log below which I recommend at least 1 person in every group of friends should read, as we have improved gameplay quite substantially.
We are working on a set of four maps for the launch of Zombie Survival. Zombie maps are substantially larger and more complex than regular Battle maps, which makes Zombie Survival quite exciting. v1.3 is still in development, and we’ll be online with you guys over the next few days studying the way you play, any issues and customer feedback.
v1.3 will be a small content drop, with light-bulbs and new blocks and a focus improving the game further, before adding in loads of content. Stability is our programming team’s focus, while our art team work on the Zombie Maps. We aim to have AMP v1.3 complete by the 30th of June, sooner if possible.
You can help!
AMP due to its ambitious size, and massive amounts of features, requires a great deal of time spent testing to make it perfect. We’re working hard on that, but you can help us. If you find any issues, have any ideas or anything ever frustrates or pleases you, please make a post on our forums.
We provide in game rewards to players who help us find and improve the game… so come chat with us!
